WLS Accommodations
Students with chronic medical or psychological conditions (e.g., mobility limitations, visual impairment, Spectrum Disorder, PTSD), that may affect them in the performance of their WLS duties, are encouraged to contact the Office of Disability and Accessibility Services (111 Lincoln Hall, 859-985-3237) so that accommodations can be considered. The Labor Program and the Office of Disability and Accessibility Services will collaboratively work together to locate suitable first-year and subsequent assignments as needed.
Acute conditions (e.g., broken leg) or minor health issues (e.g., allergies) can often be accommodated within the existing assignment by placing the student on light duty or adapting work requirements. In cases where this is not possible, students should consult the Labor Program directly for assistance in locating an alternate placement.
