Approaching Hour Limit Notification for Fall and Spring Contracts
A student, along with their supervisor and academic adviser, receives an email notification when the student has worked five or more hours beyond the pay period target for a position. Once a student reaches the maximum hours allocated for the position, the system automatically freezes that position, and the student can no longer clock in or submit hours.
Notifications to Students
- Warning: You are approaching the hour limit for a primary or secondary position. This notification indicates the student has worked five or more hours beyond the pay period target, and includes a report with details. Once the student reaches the maximum hours allocated, they will no longer be able to clock in or submit hours.
- Frozen: Your position has now been frozen. This notification confirms the position has been frozen because the student has reached or exceeded the maximum hours allocated. This applies only to the current fall or spring term; if the position continues into the following term, the student may resume working at the start of that term. Students with questions should contact their supervisor.
Notifications to Supervisors
- Warning: One or more students are approaching the hour limit for a primary or secondary position. This notification indicates the same five-hours-over-target trigger described above.
- Frozen: One or more of your students' positions have been frozen. Supervisors should not allow the affected student to work in the position or submit additional hours for the remainder of the term. Supervisors with questions should contact the Work College Program Office.
Notifications to Advisers
- Approaching Limit: This information is provided as a courtesy and requires no action. It indicates that one or more advisees have worked five or more hours beyond the pay period target for a position.
- Frozen: This notification confirms that one or more advisees' positions have been frozen for the remainder of the term. If the position continues into the following term, the student may resume working at the start of that term.
