ANR 350 Horticulture

Prerequisite: ANR 130 or BIO 114

This course covers plant propagation, soil and pest management, harvesting, storage, processing, and marketing methods for vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers. This course takes an agro-ecological approach to production and management and emphasizes methods appropriate for home gardens and small farms. A diverse array of field and greenhouse practices and systems are examined and evaluated within the context of sustainability. Three lectures and one laboratory session each week. Natural Science Course.
