GST 386G Graduate School Preparation

This class is designed to prepare juniors and seniors for grad school applications. At the end of this 8-week class students will have -
• an ability to articulate your goals and reasons for attending graduate school; utilize this heightened self-awareness and career direction in career documents (resumes, etc.) and interviewing
• a deeper understanding of the graduate school application process so you know what awaits you while applying/interviewing
• strategies to target graduate programs that fit you best
• at least one 1-1 career development counseling appointment to refine career development goals
• a highly tailored CV & a thorough understanding of how to write an effective personal statement
• sophisticated interviewing skills and understanding of how to interview based on the graduate schools culture
• a final project on why you are an excellent candidate for grad school
